Good to know

The sweater is worked top down in a raglan construction. The yoke is worked back and forth at first, then joined at the neckline and continued in the round. The yoke is later divided into body and sleeves, which are worked separately. It is recommended to begin with the neckline and sleeves after dividing the work. This makes it easier to create symmetrical color transitions if working the ombré or leftover version, while allowing the remaining yarn to blend naturally into the body.

About the Color Work

The sweater can be worked in three different ways:

One color // Leftover mohair // Ombré effect

If working the ombré version, follow the cues in the pattern for when to change colors. If working the one-color or leftover version, ignore the color-change cues but continue following the strand counts throughout the pattern.

Finishing Options

There are several ways to finish the sweater:

Leave it as is // Add fringes // Brush out the mohair for a hairy texture

Combine the different finishing techniques as desired:

If brushing out the mohair, it is recommended to only brush sections worked with 4 or more strands, such as the body.

It is recommended to wind the yarn into cakes so both the inner and outer strands are accessible. As the sweater becomes thicker, more strands will be needed simultaneously. Divide the yarn used for the body into at least 2–3 cakes so enough strands are available for the bind off.
