Good to know
The dress, skirt and top are worked from the bottom up. The skirt and dress are first worked back and forth from the right side and wrong side, with increases. They are later joined in the round around the hip area and worked in the round from there. The dress and top are divided under the arms for front and back. From this point, the piece is worked back and forth, with decreases shaping the front and back depending on which version you are knitting. The straps are worked using the i-cord technique and sewn down on the back using mattress stitch for the strapped version of the upper part.
Follow the charts for the chaotic cables. You can add more cables as you like. The charts shown in the pattern are meant both as guidelines and as inspiration, giving you space to take your cable knitting to the next level. The cables are optional. If you leave them out completely, the result will be a ribbed version of the style.
