Wild alpaca : 1 (1) 1 (1) 1 (1)
The light Tanya is knitted with single thread Kid silk mohair. The sweater is knitted with a color where the yarn is dyed up 50/50, this dye technique creates this beautiful pooling effect when knitting (irregular stripes). When you are knitting with the yarn dyed with that technique, the colors change from one to the other. Pick either one of the colors to highlight and choose a color in Wild alpaca to knit it with. Every 3/4th time your selected color comes up, add Wild alpaca with it and stop when the color dyes out. You simply rub the Kid silk and the Wild together with your fingers until they stick together. The rib for cuffs, hemline & neckline are all knitted with double thread of Kid silk lace.

Tension / Gauge Swatch
Using 6 mm needles cast on 14 stitches × 20 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking.
Achieving the correct gauge is important to ensure your finished sweater has the intended measurements.
Good to Know
One thing to keep in mind is that Wild Alpaca can be a little tricky to unravel due to its fluffy texture. The stitches can also be more difficult to see, making it harder to spot and correct mistakes.
Construction
The sweater is knitted from the top down, mostly in the round. The neckline and upper yoke are initially worked back and forth to shape the front neckline. The work is then joined at the centre front and continued in the round. Once the yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is knitted. The sleeves are then worked separately. To finish the neckline, stitches are picked up along the cast-on and neckline edges. A ribbed neckband is knitted, folded to the inside, and joined to the picked-up stitches to create a neat, double-thickness finish.
Working with Hand-Dyed Yarn
When knitting with hand-dyed yarn, I recommend alternating between two skeins throughout your project. This helps distribute any slight colour variations more evenly and creates a more consistent overall appearance. To alternate skeins, simply switch between them every other round (or every other row when working flat).
Please note: Alternating between skeins is not necessary for the Tanya Light Sweater or the striped versions of the Tanya Sweater.
